Veterinary Care and Procedures for Pets
We love animals, and at River Road Veterinary Clinic we’ve made it our life’s commitment to ensure that your pets live the healthiest, happiest and longest lives possible. Quality of life is important to us, and in this regard we always have your pets in mind. The fact of the matter is that we know they’re not just “pets.” They’re our neighbors, friends and family members, and it’s the connection we get from our animals that enriches our lives in so many ways. We’re here to help you protect and nurture that connection, offering a wealth of veterinary services for dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, lizards, snakes, horses, goats, sheep and just about any other animal member of your family/farm.
From diagnostics to surgery, we use the gentlest but most modern, evidence-based practices possible when caring for your pet. Emergency care and house-calls are also available, and we regularly offer specials on select River Road Veterinary Clinic services and products.

Veterinary Dental Care
Proper dental care for your animals will help to ensure they live a long and healthy life. When teeth and gums are not properly cared for, bacteria develop and enter the bloodstream through the gums, where it then has a direct path to the heart, lungs and other sensitive organs. Eventually, this can lead to oral disease and exacerbation or direct cause of other conditions.
River Road uses the most modern and least-invasive dental practices available for both large and small animals. Our dental facility offers advanced x-rays and imaging, highly efficient ultrasonic scaling, skillful extractions and other dental work in a clean and relaxed environment. With extremely competitive pricing and gentle, conscientious care, our clinic is the best choice for veterinary dental care in Vermont and New Hampshire. Emergency Veterinary Care
When your pets or farm animals are in trouble, you need a rapid response and immediate action. River Road can provide exactly this for you in times of crisis. Depending on the situation, we can dispatch a highly qualified veterinarian to your location, or we can open our advanced medical facilities and begin working on your animal straight away, regardless of what time it is. We are available for emergency care 24/7!
Unlike humans, animals cannot easily tell us if they are experiencing pain or medical distress, so often by the time an owner, handler or farmer discovers there is an issue, the problem may already be advanced. For this reason it is imperative that fast, efficient care is provided. Count on us to be there for you in an emergency.
There are many reasons why it may be more efficient or convenient for a River Road Veterinary Clinic veterinarian and technician to come to your location to provide services. Whether you have a sick dog who you cannot easily transport, an anxious cat, or a herd of sheep that have fallen ill, there will be much less stress and potential for additional problems if medical care is brought directly to your animal.
Whatever your needs, contact us today to learn more about our house-calls program and services.
We have made great advances in the field of medicine for both humans and animals, but there are ancient practices that have proven their effectiveness over time. Veterinary acupuncture is one such practice that has been growing in acceptance in the U.S. for treatment of many different ailments. Dr. Pinello is certified to perform acupuncture on animals through the AAVA (American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture) and has experienced success in treating a variety of ailments, for instance providing relief from the pain of arthritis in aging dogs. Acupuncture can aid in the treatment of many illnesses and conditions in horses, cats, dogs, ruminants, llamas/alpacas and some exotics. Chinese herbal remedies are another alternative service that is available upon request.
