River Road Veterinary Clinic services the Upper Valley region of Vermont and New Hampshire including the towns of Norwich, Hanover, White River Junction, Thetford, Lyme, Hartford and beyond. Our goal at River Road Veterinary Clinic is to provide consistent, quality medicine and surgery for large and small animals. Our professional team provides a clean, friendly environment with a special emphasis on compassionate care and understanding. We are a team of professionals dedicated to the health and life management of your animals.  Like you, our pets are an integral part of our family and have the right to expect the best medical and alternative care possible.  We strive to share this philosophy with you in our actions and service.  We are intensely cognizant of our impact on the creatures and people around us, and of the environments we affect.  We are committed to individually treating our clients with the respect and consideration they deserve; regardless of whether they are human clients, or the animal variety.

Over the last several years the River Road Veterinary Clinic has taken special pride in partnering with the Upper Valley Reptile Group in their mission to meet the increasing need in the fields of exotic animal rescue and education in the Upper Valley region and beyond. Reptiles are becoming increasingly popular as pets and the areas of reptile husbandry and health can be very confusing since conflicting information is extremely abundant. Over 90% of reptiles kept as pets die within their first year of life due to improper husbandry and resulting illness. Dr. Christine Pinello has made a special effort to focus on learning as much as possible about these pets, from snakes to lizards to turtles and tortoises in order to aid in the mission of the Upper Valley Reptile Group. She currently performs all pre-adoption wellness checks for the animals rescued by UVRG as well as the animals owned by UVRG as part of their education program.  She also sees a multitude of reptiles from all over the twin states as there are very few veterinarians in the area that are willing to treat these exotic creatures. Educating owners about the proper care of their reptiles and learning how to best treat their most common ailments in order to improve their quality of life has become very important to Dr. Pinello over the last several years.

In addition to treating an increasing number of reptiles both Dr. Pinello and Dr. Melanson share a particular interest in all forms of farm animals. Dr. Pinello has always had a love of cows and horses and Dr. Melanson has a particular fondness for treating horses as well as goats, sheep and poultry.

Our ultimate goal is to provide the best care possible for both you and your pets. If you have any questions about our clinic or the services and care we provide please do not hesitate to call us at (802)649-3877.
